Faculty keep email for 1 year, unless they retired in good standing, in which case they keep email for life (per union 
contract).

Staff keep email for 24-48 hours, depending on timing of termination.  If an unfriendly termination, supervisors may 
ask us to terminate just before the termination meeting, and we comply.
