I think that both sides - the IT people and the electricians - have
very good arguments for their respective positions.

We have a perennial discussion with our facilities unit over whether the
electricians should have keys to our data closets, and then it expands to the
janitors, etc. How much a risk this represents depends on which manager you
talk to... And that example /should/ be one of the easier ones!
