Any and all certifications are good to have and look good but may not weigh
in their decision process to hire you. There is a lot of competition out
there right now. We had a junior support desk position open earlier this
year and got about 30 MCSE's applying for the position... Our area has a few
companies go under that had IT departments...

If you get the Security+, get the Network+ as well as they are very similar.
Network+ is the first one and Security+ is like part two in my opinion, but
both very similar in nature as far as the test goes and the security+ counts
as an elective towards the MCSE, at least it use to ... C|EH is the most
fun course to take.

Thank you,
Tommy Thomas, MCP, Network+, Security+, C|EH, MCSE Network Systems

Subject: CompTIA Qualifications

What are people's opinions on the CompTIA qualifications?
http://www.comptia.org/home.aspx

Specifically, the Security+
http://certification.comptia.org/getCertified/certifications/security.aspx

I basically want to know if they are as worldwide recognised as they say
they are, and will a Security+ qualification look good to a potential
employer. Or will they never had heard of it?

Thanks guys
