  My first shot would be to check for geotagging on the picture's
metadata. It's easier and faster than a quest for such a magical piece
of software (it may exists, but I think it will be a cool
millitary/intelligence tool or at least a very expensive
nonsensical-for-common-people tracking software)...
  Just my two cents.

that there are applications that can "look" at a picture taken from a
cell phone and can get the location of where the picture was taken.  Is
this true?  If so, can someone provide more information?  If this can be
done, people posting pictures from their cell phones to social sites
should be aware of this...
