From my point of view, having the necessary experiences helps.  Having that
with the necessary Cert if sure a winner.  I haf seen people with MCSA that
does not even know how to enable a scheduled task in XP and not knowing how
to reset a switch password with a CCNA certification ... Basically some
people are ready brain DUMP !!!

Keep in mind that a move could be in anyone's future, given the modern  
work climate.  I would encourage the original poster to skip the  
Security+ and go for the CISSP.  That is what I am doing.  (I am also  
going to probably attempt the GIAC/GSEC as well, since I will be  
taking that SANS course this summer.  :)
