Try to determine if your PC can communicate on the network. Open a command prompt run 'ipconfig /all' and write down your gateway address. Then try to
'ping' that address.  If you get responses back then your computer can
communicate on the network and your problem lies in software.  If no
response, check your cabling and network card.

HEllo to all users and a Securityfocus Admins...  I have a big problem: I
think that I have to take a malware or others malicious code on the
internet, and after this I have scanned my computer with a many removal
and security tools how Adaware,Spybot S&D,Stinger ecc... I have removed 3
malware from my computer but remaing a big problem... I cant connect my pc
on internet   :(  My web browser firefox say me 'I cant contact a server'
What i can to make for resolve this problem ?? thanks

ping 127.0.0.1........
Try and ping an IP '66.94.234.13', not a www.yahoo.com address....
Check the DNS setting are right for your ISP as well as your proxy if need be....... See is the host file has been tampered with a heap of loop back address(127.0.0.1).....
Check leads and plugs.....
Do you have a fire wall?.......
Do you run a swtich or router?....
What sort of connection do you have to the Internet?......dial up, adsl, cable..............????
