Great. I'd like to thank everybody for your posts. They've been really helpful.

What I may finally do is:

1) Change the default port 22 to a different one.
2) Disable root login
3) I'll think about login with certifications.
4) I found port-knocking a really interesting idea. I'll have to find
more information about it.
