RE: CISSP without experience

(ISC)2, the organization that providees the certification for the CISSP, has a program wherein a person can take the 
exam and if they pass it they are awarded the status of Associate.  That allows them to complete the experience 
requirements while at the same time able to state that they have successfully completed the exam portion of their 
professional development.  

As a former member of the Board of Directors of (ISC)2 and having chaired several commettees I can say that the 
Assoicates program is a relatively new one, out only a short time (less than 2 years).  It answers many request from 
individuals and industry for this avenue of professional development.  It has been well received and is growing.

I have a 6 month experience on working professionally in Information
Security, but I have been learning and practicing it in my studies and
now I am looking for a job. Almost all of the jobs require a CISSP,
but you cannot get it without atleast 3 years experience. I did hear
that even without an experience you can pass the CISSP, but you will
not get the certification and then you can go to the employer and tell
him that you passed the CISSP. Anyone have any views or any experience
with it?
