This is also a good method for hundreds of PCs

But if LAN consists of Thousands of PCs then it will be trouble for
Administrator.
because one to one Mapping( Mac to Ip)  is very difficult to maintain
in this case.

In windows, just exclude the entire range.  Then assign IP's by
reservations based on MAC address.

In linux its all handled in side the reservations file, very similar to
this.
