The space really /wouldn't/ have been a problem, because the sound continued 
straight on through to Windows. The technician described being in the GUI all 
while the PC speaker was emiting the tone. He held the phone up to the pc 
speaker so I could hear it. One solid tone. I don't know what that knowledge 
is worth, but there it is :-)
