If you are talking about a solution for a corporate environment and if

Cisco staff. Granted you have OpenBSD mailing lists and what not, but
if you have an OpenBSD firewall/VPN that is mission critical and
something breaks you really don't have much instant support other than
google and hope someone else has had the same problem before.

Oh, and perhaps the fact that the OpenBSD PF and IPsec developers are
active on the users mailing list. Thank you Daniel, Henning, Hakan,
etc. Does Cisco put you into their PIX developers when you call into
tier1 support? ;-)

After reading all the responses it is still not completely clear to
me. I
have gathered that OpenBSD would be more secure than Linux, and Cisco
appears to be an industry leader.

However, with all things being equal (i.e. experience level of security
administrator, proper configuration, etc.) which firewall would be
"most"
secure and reliable?

A) OpenBSD (non-ASIC)
B) Cisco (ASIC)

Next, taking into consideration VPN needs on each system, which would
be
considered "most" secure and reliable?
