Subject: Re: [RFC] OpenSSL and Windows

Your instructions are awesome. Now for Windows I have the official
nmap.exe and my own compiled nmap-ssl.exe.

I wasn't able to get it working with the OpenSSL from GnuWin32
(http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/). It's still version 0.9.7.c
anyway, so I'd rather use the one you recommend.

Do you have any experience with compiling nmap against GnuWin32's
OpenSSL on Windows?

Just curious since I already had that one installed and had to
download and install the one you use in addition.

I have not looked at the GnuWin32 OpenSSL distribution. As you say, the
version they're shipping seems quite out of date. I did try the OpenSSL
builds for Windows available from
http://www.deanlee.cn/programming/openssl-for-windows/ but could not get
them to work. I also tried compiling OpenSSL on my own, and couldn't
quite get that to work either.

Anyway, glad to hear somebody else is finding this useful. I rather
enjoy having the SSL support on Windows, as several scripts that I use
regularly benefit from it.

Thomas
