It's not symmetric.

If a user gets pissed off because he can't get mail at AOL from sites that
haven't paid their protection money, it's pretty easy to move to another
e-mail provider.

If a user gets pissed off because his streaming video is coming from a
site that hasn't paid SBC their protection money, there's usually not a
lot of other places to buy bandwidth to the home....
