ALL the intelligence agencies that I am aware of, including Jordan, Russian, France, Germany, England, the US, Israel and Egypt ALL agreed that Saddam had WMD. Were they correct? No!
Scott Ritter, a former weapons inspector in Iraq, said before the war to anyone who would listen that Iraq no longer had chemical or biological weapons. He's now written a book on his take on the Iraq weapons inspection program: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1560258527/102-6614051-6515300 One also has to keep in mind that the CIA spent about $100 million in the earlier '90s to demonize Sadam in the media outside of the U.S. This is the company that did the work: http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Rendon_Group The CIA does a lot more than just gather information. Cooking the books on intelligence to go to war is hardly a new technique: "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." -- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials Richard _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
