Hello Deepak, I would allow such traffic but only through encrypted tunnel (VPN option or something) with strong authentication (tokens, snart cards), of cource if this application is really necessary for company operation. As far as I know PCAnywhare uses some kind of encryption but I do not know what exactly that is why I would terminate encryption on firewall. There are also other remote control soft for NT, for example: Computer Associates Remote Control Option. rgds, Andrzej Blaszczyk Product & Project Division ATM S.A. tel.: +48 22 5156170 ----- Original Message ----- From: Deepak Vaidya <shad0wlight () pop softhome net> To: <firewall-wizards () nfr net> Sent: Thursday, October 07, 1999 2:20 PM Subject: pcanywhere
Hello, What is the opinion of the list about allowing pcanywhere across a vpn connection to control some NT systems. I am not comfortable, but getting a lot of pressure in allowing that through the firewall. Thanks In Advance. - Deepak
