Your computer at home is probably behind a dsl/cable router and has a non-routable IP address.......something like 10.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x. so when you put in the http://<IP>:2000 you should be using the external IP of your cable/dsl router. The router would then need to be set up with port forwarding rule so that when it gets an incoming connection to port 2000, it will forward that traffic to the correct pc. Does that make any sense? -----Original Message----- From: mike () mikesworld com [mailto:mike () mikesworld com] Sent: Friday, April 28, 2006 6:46 AM To: security-basics () securityfocus com Subject: Tunnelling? Hi Quick question! My situation is i have remoteley anywhere running on my home pc, however when i try and connect to my pc from work it wont connect, for example in the url bar i type http://<IP>:2000 i think work maybe blocking port 2000, is there any other way i could connect to my home pc? thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - This List Sponsored by: Webroot Don't leave your confidential company and customer records un-protected.
