Your computer at home is probably behind a dsl/cable router and has a
non-routable IP address.......something like 10.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x.
so when you put in the http://<IP>:2000 you should be using the external
IP of your cable/dsl router.  The router would then need to be set up
with port forwarding rule so that when it gets an incoming connection to
port 2000, it will forward that traffic to the correct pc.  Does that
make any sense?

Quick question!


My situation is i have remoteley anywhere running on my home pc, however
when i try and connect to my pc from work it wont connect, for example
in the url bar i type http://<IP>:2000


i think work maybe blocking port 2000, is there any other way i could
connect to my home pc?
