What do you suppose would happen if I created a domain on a linux DNS server called <alt 255> and then tried to request a reverse lookup using an NT DNS server? Anyone tried this? NT stores zone files under the zonename.dns but because it would only be cached I don't think filenames would affect it. However if it's not the filesys but some internal system that the <alt 255> causes a problem for is it possible this could affect a DNS server if it got into the cache? Geo.
