Thank you everyone for your comments. I did find some information on
Sans and a great document on Cisco for designing secure networks. What I
can gather from all the comments and from what I found on the above two
sites is the only way to hurt the switch or to do hopping is if you are
on that switch segment. This is not an issue for us.
