I remember the days before Sourcefire, and there were many other people,
groups, and companies contributing to the Snort project. After Sourcefire
assimilated their team, a lot of those developers were eventually pushed
away. Without Sourcefire can Snort development survive outside of the
Sourcefire environment.

Now the problem is (without any news from Marty), where does this leave all
of us in the big picture. I don't think Cisco was a good fit for anyone
outside of Sourcefire.
