thresholding (event_filter) twist?

Hi,

After hours of trying to get thresholding working, I discovered that if I enabled
the preprocessor sensitive_data: in snort.conf, the thresholding feature (event_filter) of snort began to work?

Is this the proper way to get the thresholding feature working?
