 Sorry if this sounds like a lame response but have you set up all your tables, given correct permissions, does your 
user and password match in your snort.conf file?   I would take a look at patrick harper's install guide.  On pages 16 
& 17 he goes into the steps of setting up the snort db.   Again sorry if this response is too simple or

name and password to the database line in the SNORT.conf file. However when I add this line it doesn't log to the
