(Two instances listening on one interface, with different executable names - snort and snort_special.) Any suggestions on the best approach to solve the pidfile problem?
How about editing the sources and compiling a special version of Snort? It should be a piece of cake. I did something similar with barnyard, since it used to write the pasword of the MySQL user in cleartext to the syslog. I love open source ;) There is also the "-R" switch: snort -c /etc/snort/snort.conf_eth0 -i eth0 -D -R _special will make the /var/run/snort_eth0_special.pid file Regards, Edin -- Edin Dizdarevic ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: VM Ware With VMware you can run multiple operating systems on a single machine.
