A read-only cable is just one more added measure of security (which can never hurt). However, you are still safe, as long as you don't bind IP to the adapter. -----Original Message----- From: Basil Saragoza [mailto:snortlst () hotmail com] Sent: Friday, February 22, 2002 1:21 PM To: Erek Adams; Salisko, Rick Cc: McCammon, Keith; snort-users () lists sourceforge net Subject: Re: [Snort-users] firewalling snort machine Well, I'lready started with 2 NICs...just one more question - If I don't use R/O cable, then connections can't be established to ip-less nic anywayand I'm secure, right? (Isnt't it a bit too paranoid to use R/Ocable?) _______________________________________________ Snort-users mailing list Snort-users () lists sourceforge net Go to this URL to change user options or unsubscribe: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/snort-users Snort-users list archive: http://www.geocrawler.com/redir-sf.php3?list=snort-users
