Re: Astalavista?

I have been a member at astalavista.net for several years now. IMHO it falls more under the grey area as opposed to black. Warez/Cracks are not allowed and any posts detailing or asking for such are trashed by the staff rather quickly. There are some rather talented folk at asta, but for the most part, if you are looking for an advanced community, then you will probably be let down. The directory (everything that is found on the DVD is available piecemill from the portal itself) is rather out of date but it is slowly coming back into 'the now'. The wargame servers (when they're up, which isn't very often anymore) are good for killing time and fun if you're into that kind of thing.

Overall, worth the price? I guess that depends on how much extra cash you have floating around. If you need to rid yourself of some budget overflow, then, sure, by all means, it's worth it. Otherwise, I couldn't really recommend coming out of pocket for it.

quality of Astalavista's membership? Does it fall under black hat
more than neutral?
