-----Original Message----- From: Thad Horak [mailto:thadhorak () YAHOO COM] Sent: Sunday, March 25, 2001 4:27 PM I'm wondering if anyone has come across a small & portable "Telnet Server" for Win32 systems that will allow you to set a password for access. I've tested such programs as tini.exe & srvcmd.exe and they work very well, but I can't control access via a password. Any suggestions besides remote.exe? Thanks in advance.
You can use cryptcat from farm9 that way. (http://farm9.com/content/Free_Tools/Cryptcat) The password is basically the encryption key. If they don't match, you can not transmit/receive data. Additional advantage is that... well... all communication is encrypted. And since cryptcat is just like netcat, you can still use it in any existing scripts you may have.
