There could be many answers to the MAC adress problem you are seeing.
one could be that the switch might have 2 macadresses, and one could be that
there is another switch/hub or network communication device (fx crypto engine
bridge and more) who is possible to set a adress to and "monitor", but might not
be able to communicate via Tcp/ip.
