If acme.com, a global company, has a very wide range of numbers how is it best to seek out the numbers that are relevant to the IT departments. Obviously there is the social engineering approach, however I am interested in any other ideas.
I would first make a WHOIS lookup on acme.com, and look at the Technical Contact's phone number. If (and that's a big if) the numbers are allocated in a quite sequential manner in the company, that number should be somewhere in the IT range. Hope this helps, Lionel
