May like to give Symantec Security Information Manager a try. (full disclosure: I work for Symantec). It is hardware independent, has customizable data collection and maps log data to event fields. It also supports out-of-box compliance reporting for HIPAA. Does require a collection agent on client machines that supports over 200 third-party products. It is a single solution for meeting log management and advanced incident management requirements. The Enterprise Starter Pack consisting of • 1 x SSIM Software License • 100 Managed Servers & Network Devices • 1st years Essential Maintenance • 1st years Global Intelligence Network Subscription costs $45k . _______________________________________________ Pauldotcom mailing list Pauldotcom () mail pauldotcom com http://mail.pauldotcom.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pauldotcom Main Web Site: http://pauldotcom.com
