Be aware that some sites categorize websites as "adult" using very
unsophisticated mechanisms.

John Dvorak's blog site is often categorized as "adult" because he has the
word "uncensored" in the title. 

Sometimes they do it when a picture has a lot of flesh tones in a jpg.

As for "traces", you can visit an "innocent" site that will re-direct
you to an adult site (phishing).

Also - some browsers will "pre-fetch" URL's without the user's
knowledge.
