Thanks, as a few have stated, I'll just use skip and loop the DD wipe. :)
I think seek would be better. According to the man page: seek=BLOCKS skip BLOCKS obs-sized blocks at start of output skip=BLOCKS skip BLOCKS ibs-sized blocks at start of input You don't want to skip blocks of your INPUT file, do you?. Is this magnetic media, or a solid state disk? If magnetic, I would not recommend using a single pattern.
