in China like everything else right? Maybe the cases feel better and make
you think it's higher quality :P The Lenovo Thinkpad range is pretty good
imho.

Running Linux as the base and using VM guests for Windows and others seems
to make more sense in this business to me.

I mean no disrespect (dont want to get into mac v pc flame war) but with the
Macs poor security track record, I am baffled by its wide adoption in the
security community. With all its flaws at least MS appears to be taking
security seriously. If it is a *nix shell you want, run Linux. I personally
have a Win 7 notebbok with various Linux running in Virtual Box.

That is my two cents for whatever it is worth!

Subject: [Pauldotcom] mac vs pc (non-fanboy answers)

I've been looking at getting a new laptop for a while and I'm trying
to compare a PC and a Mac. I know that a lot of security people are
moving to Macs and I'd like to know why. For half the price, or less,
I can get an high spec PC so why are people moving? Is it OSX, is it
availability of tools, hardware quality or what?

I'm particularly looking at the Macbook Pros, probably the 15".

I know this will probably start a fanboy fight but I've got to ask.

Robin
