Specialise to survive?

Surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet but Richard Bejtlich has a great post
on his blog (

generalist. If you have to be a security generalist, be a ?generalist
specialist;? namely, know a bit about everything PLUS know a lot about

about everything,? you?d probably die hungry..."*

I am all for specialising in multiple areas of information
security...putting all the careers advantages, money, etc aside, you
wouldn't you want to excel in every field that youre a part of? Provided of
course you have the time to learn :P
