I am limited in the comments I can make on this topic (work stuff, NDA), but it is safe to say "commodity" network gear is involved. And software from that town outside of Seattle runs critical services in at least one active implementation. Oh, and DHCP is a good idea for these meters' networks, right? Feel safer now?
