Second try nmap help with XP

All,

This is my second try on this question.

History:
I have been a big nmap fan and use it on my Solaris box and my Mac OSX box. I just purchased a HP xt575 laptop with Windows XP home edition. (I am new to the Microsoft OS) I have downloaded WinPCap 3.01a and NMapWin 1.31. I ran it using the 100BaseT port and all seemed to work pretty good. I then did a PPP connection and could not get any service. I also have wireless and it did not work with that either. So it seems to only works on the built in ethernet port. Is there any way to change what network interface it uses?
From this I got some suggestions:
Backup to WinPCap 2.3
Upgrade to XP Pro
Update:
I have loaded WinPCap 2.3 and reinstalled NMapWin 1.31. This did not work to change the PPP problem. I also installed XP Pro to see if that was the issue. Again no success. I have installed nmap-3.30-win32. I am use the command line method on my Mac OSC and UNIX box's so I did not see an issue with that. When I go to run nmap-3.30-win32 I get a window that flashes (looks like a terminal window or a dos window) however, it only flashes and then disappears.

Can anyone help me with what setup will work on XP to use nmap to run against the ethernet, PPP, and wireless 802.11b? Thanks for any help you can give.

    Have a good one, Ed.
