a) access links will run out of gas first. b) if shared infrastructure gets overloaded you can always drop point-to-point FDDI to the peers you have the largest traffic with, and so offload large chunks of tarffic from the shared infrastructure. That was one of the reasons why colocation was choosen as The Way To Go. --vadim
