Thanks for the help, but it did'nt work. I checked the cygwin. And everything seems too be okay. I uninstalled Metasploit and installed it as administrator. But the result was the same. /Toralf -----Urspr?ngliche Nachricht----- Von: mmiller at hick.org [mailto:mmiller at hick.org] Gesendet: Freitag, 4. Sorry, forgot the half ;-) I installed metasploit v2.3 rev 1.37 on a win2k SP4 (german). I tried to install as a normal user and as administrator. At least at administrator I should have wirte permissions. The file '.current' looks all right, as I can say that. Maybe it is a problem of the cygwin environment? Remember, that I'm not having only problems in updating, but also with triggering an exploit.
If you haven't already, I would recommend doing a complete uninstall and then re-installing as an Administrator. It is likely that there are permission problems related to the fact that the first time you installed it you did so as a non-administrator. Did you have an existing cygwin environment on the machine before you attempted to install?
