Premier's office accidentally publishes name of secret agent

The Queensland Premier's office has published the name of an Australian spy in what it claims was an administrative error.

The name of the Australian Security and Intelligence Organisation agent was published in Annastacia Palaszczuk’s travel diaries and was discovered by The Guardian.

The relevant diary pages, which have since been pulled from the internet, detailed a meeting between the Premier, ASIO director-general Duncan Lewis, then-police commissioner Ian Stewart and Police Minister Mark Ryan.

The meeting was likely to have occurred in May, as the Premier’s diary from that month was not available online.
