I think this whole discussion is missing the point about organic foods. While organic growers can use pesticides of 
various sorts, they use them minimally and work very hard to make sensible choices about which ones to use.

If one type or the other has greater nutritional value that's fine, and I'd like to know, but it isn't the essential 
issue. The essential issue is that people like my stepson become seriously ill when they eat non-organic fruits and 
berries but do just fine when the eat organic fruits and berries. Same for certain vegetables, though it varies from 
type to type.

The fact that some shipments are being mis-labeled is a serious problem. It is not a reason to discontinue organic 
labeling. It's a reason to fix the regulations.


Personally, I think the real hope is some of the new urban hyrdoponics efforts that are more efficient, 
environmentally cleaner, and completely pesticide free.

But that's a different discussion.
