People, and businesses in particular, live in a global society / marketplace where the laws of any country will be increasingly meaningless. 2. Encrypting will become the norm for almost all on-line communications due to the IT advances, hence making wiretapping so difficult it will become unfeasible. I recommend that we ask government officials, starting at the federal level, to conduct their business affairs like the best run '.com' companies, i.e. to fully exploit on-line communciations rather than have our taxes pay for their weekly jaunts between their home district and capital office. That would not lower taxes, but change their perspective on this issue - and many others as well regarding living in the information age. Ted Kircher Information Age Consulting
