Don't know how common this is, but the Garden Court hotel in Palo Alto
offers "high speed internet access" from your hotel room:  T1 speed.


The catches:


        1.  $12/night (the "low flat fee");
        2.  Requires Win95, a PCMCIA slot, and either floppy or CD drive;
        3.  Explicitly not Mac, WinNT, Unix;
        4.  Provide your own browser, e-mail software, etc.


They also offer a toll free tech support line (and don't even charge the
hotel access charge!) from 4-midnight.  I jacked my Powerbook into the
phone line and went about my business in my usual way.
