No.

I'm saying that, given the choice of taking the legal, questionable
end-game path -- where you might not get what you want -- and the
illegal, (perhaps) difficult path of being certain that you _will_
get what you want, you get the picture.

Of course, there will always be criminals, and there will always
be "good intentions"...

So, when faced faced with a choice of an easy legal way to obtain the
information you want and a difficult illegal way to obtain the exact
same information, you think that most people will opt for the
difficult, illegal way?  The way that also has a chance of tying up
your case for extra years of legal wrangling, and giving you a
political black eye?

If this information wasn't available any other way, I wouldn't
hesitate to go along with the idea that it was obtained illicitly.  In
the current situation as we know it though, I just don't buy it.
