Maybe MS should do "Windows for Grannies", along the lines of grannix.
If all the software is on CD Rom and you can't install software on the
hard disk, then you've moved quite a long way to hardeing the system.

The problem is that your idea doesn't coincide with the idea of
Commercial software. It's one thing to install Linux, OpenOffice, The
GIMP, and gcc on a live cd, but it's entirely different to install
Windows, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and Visual Studio.

Why (using the MS replacement for photoshop)?

You call it a "secure bundle" charge, um, $2500, and get your wheelbarrows
ready.
