Good Day,

uh-oh...

"the net as a service": if the permanently "on" .NET (and others, can
you say Google?) point of view wins, one's individual PC essentially
becomes part of a bigger infrastructure and the distinction between
local applications and remote/served apps becomes very theoretical. In
that case, what is the distinction between a firewall blocking an
illegal request that would exploit IIS and a filter that would block
vulnerable function calls? In theory, the user wouldn't even know
what's local and what isn't.

Yesterday, your network was part of the Network and you had the
right then the duty to defend it. When your apps are running partly
locally and partly remotely, how should you behave?

Just random thoughts...
