Look idiot -- would you please stop CC'ing me these messages?

If you are using such a shite MUA that your only option to
automatically get it to reply to the list address is to use some poxy
"reply all" function, please stop replying. If that is the case and
you just _must_ reply (we're all still waiting anxiously to see a
single sentence worth reading actually come from your keyboard) then
please edit the address fields so that my direct address is NOT among
them.

                [SNIP]

Some folks actually consider it a politness to be additionally addressed
in replies to lists, for a number of reasons;

        1) the list may be moderated, and moderation can sometimes hinder
communications, the moderator may explude a fully relevant post...

        2) lists processing delays; again, can inhibit and alter the
        communication channel

        3) sometimes it's just damnright polite to hit the person<s>
directly, in advance of a posting going into a more public domain.

        4) you have a much better chance, all things above considered of
having the reply make it to the originator, who's benefit surely
is at least equal to the lists, at large, if not more so.
Alllowing *me* more control over the communication attempted.

This topic has struck here I think in the past, and various other lists, I
wish to make it clear to all, feel free to always chose to include my
address in the response, though I do not promise to always read them
nor reply, your chances that I will are enhanced greatly by doing so, hell
yer welcome to reply to me directly and cheat the list out of the whole
affair, the same non-promise stated above applied... <smile>.

Thanks,

Ron DuFresne

OK, so you're a Ph.D. Just don't touch anything.
