It is well known that the Defense Department opposed this war until over-ruled by the administration for one simple reason: This war has nothing to do with American defense. them or not. DARPA is a government agency and has no right to any

view. By definition an agency is created to fullfill its charter, in DARPA's case to promote advanced research in the US government's best interests, which a secure network OS clearly is. The charter mentions nothing about Democratic, Replubican, Anarchist, war, or peace political views.
DARPA's charter is to promote advanced research in the US government's best DEFENSE interests. It is not unreasonable of them to conclude that giving money to someone who is opposed to the Defense Department's current number one project may not be in the best interest of our defense. Don't forget what the "D" stands for in DARPA. Promoting the development of secure OSes and tools does not imply that one must fund one specific OS or project. -- Shawn McMahon | Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, EIV Consulting | that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any UNIX and Linux | hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure http://www.eiv.com| the survival and the success of liberty. - JFK _______________________________________________ Full-Disclosure - We believe in it.
