That is exactly what vendors have been pushing. Perhaps difference
vendors phrase it differently...

Vendors are coming in and saying that they can protect against
vulnerabilities before the virii/worms/exploits hit the wires. They've
labeled this zero-day in front of me. What are they calling zero-day to
you? I'd be curious...

Whether you believe this or not is another choice but it's certainly
being said.
