An excellent out-of-the-box Linux appliance, very easy to configure and maintain, is Bering
   http://leaf.sourceforge.net/devel/jnilo/

With some minor tweaks and some additional modules I was in degree to use the Bering distribution to replace well-known commercial FW's with full satisfaction for moderate bandwidths (up to E1/T1 with 4 Ethernet interfaces) .

Have a look at http://leaf.sourceforge.net - The Linux Embedded Appliance
Firewall.
This is the sucessor of the linuxrouter project and makes a great base for
just about any linux appliance.

Hi there ...

I am trying to find a out of the box linux firewall with proper Admin
tools etc ... anyone got any ideas?
