You don't say what kind of firewall you are running on AIX. As for the AIX
machines themselves, it has been my experience that AIX is a rock solid UNIX
platform. Were you going to training for AIX, or for the Firewall? A bit
more detail might help us point you in the right direction. For the AIX
novice (and to a large extent the AIX pro) smit is the utility that will
allow you to do most anything to configure AIX. what is it that makes you
think these boxes might be over the hill? also what version of AIX are they
running? are they no longer doing the job?

Sorry that I'm asking more questions than providing answers. I'm trying to
steer you in the right direction. Here are two things that will help you at
least a little:

the smit command is your friend.
