Amazon.com is pushing a new book called Intrusion Detection : Network Security Beyond the Firewall, by Terry Escamilla. I went to Amazon's page on it (see link below, if you're interested) and found two very conlicting customer reviews.
Has anyone looked at this book, and if so, can you offer any insight into these strong opinions? Is this a recommended read?
I don't know if I would call it a recommended read. IMHO, it's okay for someone who is new to the field of IDS and wants a general overview of IDS and security. For those who have been doing security for a while the book is a bit obvious and could be seen as a reminder of things forgotten.
