Hi all,

UCSD is looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer with expertise in network security (firewall, VPN, NIDS/NIPS,
SIEM, application proxies, load balancers, etc.), scripting (Perl/Python) and Linux.

The position is responsible for designing, deploying and managing the core campus network security infrastructure. We
have a number of major projects lined up for this year, such as the modernization of security operations automation
scripts (written in Perl/Python), development of automated security metrics collection and reporting, and the design
and deployment of a campus-wide VPN, SIEM, DDOS and IPv6 solutions.

More info on the position - and info on applying can be found here:

UCSD is one of the largest networks in San Diego at around 100,000 nodes and the environment offers exposure to a wide
variety of technology, expertise, resources, and threats/challenges. Our Security team has recently undergone a
reorganization and has added new talent and resources that have us well-positioned to elevate the security program.

San Diego is ranked #22 in US News best places to live and is renowned for it's sunny, temperate climate (upper 70's in
summer to the mid 60's in winter), proximity to the ocean, mountains, deserts and plenty of year-round fun!

Thank you,
Jason
